Information about use of cookies
What is a cookie?
Our websites use cookies, which is very common for most websites. A cookie is a data file stored on our website visitor’s computer, smartphone, browser or other IT-equipment. When a visitor enters our website, the cookie therefore identifies your IT-equipment/IP-address, but not the person as such. The cookie thereby makes it possible to recognize your browser and gather information about which websites and functions are visited or used through your browser.
The first time you visit our website, you will meet a banner whereby you will be informed about our use of cookies. You may consent to this by clicking “Ok” or by continuing using our website. If you do not wish to consent, you must stop using our websites now and erase cookies as described in the below section VI regarding erasing cookies.
Why do we use cookies?
We mainly use cookies for analysing the traffic on our website in general, e.g. the number of visitors and returning visitors or which product descriptions or advertisements are reviewed by the visitors. The purpose to do this is to improve the design of our website, to target marketing and generally increase our service to the visitors.
The tool we use for this purpose is Google Analytics and Sitecore Statistics, which thereby also place a cookie on your IT-equipment for statistical analysis of the users’ visits and navigation on the website (so-called “third party cookies”).
By using cookies from Google Analytics, we monitor inter alia:
-
If you through the browser have visited our website previously and how many times,
-
Which country you come from and your preferred language
-
Which search engine you have used to be directed to our website
-
When and for how long you have visited our website.
On a few of our websites, we also use a cookie from Google Analytics which gives us the opportunity to target the readers of our advertisements on websites that are not administered by us (so-called “remarketing”). The purpose of doing this is to be able to present you with relevant advertisements.
Once a year for a period of one to two months, a cookie is used in regards to optional user surveys. The survey uses a cookie to avoid that you receive the survey you have already responded to or you have chosen not to take part of.
For how long will a cookie be stored?
Temporary session-ID cookies are used to show when and for how long a visitor is on our website and therefore expires when you close your browser. Persistent cookies show if the visitor has been to the website before, where the visitor is from and which search engine has been used, keywords etc. Such cookies expire after e.g. 6 months, 2 years or up to 10 years, and are renewed when the visitor visits the website.
How to erase cookies
If you do not wish to consent to our use of cookies, you can always change your browser settings. You may also delete stored cookies. It depends on your particular browser how you can change the settings or delete the cookies. If you use a computer with a newer browser, you may delete your cookies by using: CTRL + SHIFT + Delete.
